The construction project of 12 townhouses in Albalat dels Sorells, Valencia, led by STALART, was completed in six months and focused on sustainability and efficiency through the use of the Steel Frame system. The priority was to minimize environmental impact by opting for industrialized processes and a structure made of 80% recycled steel, efficiently transported in coils from Germany.
The fabrication of the structure was completed in 27 days, using advanced machinery and a team of six people, which allowed for very low energy consumption and almost waste-free and emission-free production. The waste generated was reused for transportation and assembly, maximizing its use before being recycled.
The supply of materials was optimized by grouping and dividing the structural elements, allowing a single truck to transport the structure of a 150 m² house in 2D pieces, ready for on-site assembly. In total, nine trucks were used to transport the structure for the 12 houses.
On-site installation did not require special lifting equipment or specific machinery, facilitating a clean, safe, and quick execution, reducing assembly time to one-third compared to traditional methods. The structure was completed in six weeks, optimizing the process and reducing costs.
The durability and quality of the materials, along with an appropriate architectural design and correct execution, ensure a lifespan of over 100 years for Steel Frame structures. Additionally, these structures comply with safety regulations and minimize environmental impacts and waste generation. At the end of its useful life, the structure can be recycled or reused, contributing to the circular economy and sustainability.
